Advertiser privacy notice

Last updated: 7 June 2026

This notice explains how we handle the data of businesses that advertise on RHUL Mobile. It is separate from the app privacy policy, which covers students using the app. The data controller is Shacksolutions Ltd (company number 13337279), England and Wales. Contact [email protected].

1. What we collect

  • Business and contact details: business name, contact name, email, and any phone, website, or address you provide.
  • Account data: your sign-in identity and the people linked to your business account.
  • Listing content: the logos, deal copy, and redemption details you submit.
  • Billing data: your subscription tier and status, and a Stripe customer reference. Payments are handled by Stripe; we do not collect or store your full card number or bank details.
  • Performance data: aggregated impression and redemption counts for your listings.

2. How we use it

  • To provide and run your listings in the app
  • To take payment, manage your subscription, and send billing and service messages
  • To give you reporting on how your listings performed
  • To provide support and to keep the platform safe and working

We process your data to perform our contract with you (running your subscription and listings) and for our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the platform. Where we send optional marketing, we rely on your consent and you can opt out at any time.

4. Who processes it

We use these providers to run the partner platform:

ServicePurpose

Amazon Web Services (AWS)Hosting, file storage, and scheduled tasks
NeonDatabase
Amazon SESTransactional and billing emails
SlackInternal notifications to our team (for example a new partner or a deal awaiting review)

We do not sell your data, and we do not share students' personal data with you. Partner reporting uses aggregated counts only.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your business and billing records for as long as you have an account and for as long afterwards as we need to meet legal, accounting, and tax obligations. You can ask us to close your account and remove data we are not required to retain.

6. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your data, and to provide it in a portable form. You can also object to certain processing and withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

7. International transfers

Some of our providers process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on their safeguards (such as approved transfer mechanisms) to protect your data.

8. Changes

We may update this notice from time to time. The "Last updated" date above shows when it was last revised, and we will flag material changes through the dashboard or by email.
